Zed is a code editor with integrated AI assistance for software development. Its documentation describes an inline assistant for rewriting selected code or terminal text, as well as agent features that can work across files with tool use and reviewable changes. Developers can configure AI features and permissions, and the editor supports connecting other coding agents. Zed combines editing, project navigation, and AI-assisted workflows in a single development environment for programmers who want to request explanations or code changes without leaving their editor.
